Death 3/27/1994 | Ul, Edward, L., 76, 4026 Sunset Blvd., Erie, died Sunday, March 27, 1994, following an extended illness. Survivors include his wife, Victoria Kowalik Ul; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Cynthia) Waidley of Erie; and a son, Robert E. Ul of Wattsburg. Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. |

She was born in Gallitzen, March 27, 1914, a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Piton Karcz. She was a member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church. Among the survivors is a sister, Sophia Good of Wattsburg. Burial was at Mount of Olives Cemetery. |
Death 12/14/1999 | Umholtz. Robert G. Umholtz Jr., 33, of 10731 Etter Road, Waterford, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, due to an accident at Erie Mill & Press Co. He was born Oct. 21, 1966, in Erie, son of Mary Jenkins Umholtz of Erie and Robert Umholtz Sr. of McKean. He worked for East Erie Turners and Clark Auto Parts before joining Erie Mill & Press Co. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by an infant brother in 1973. Survivors include two sisters, Kathy Clausen and her husband, Ron, of Waterford, and Jean Woodcox and her husband, Kenneth, of Greene Township; two nieces; and an aunt. Burial was at Mount of Olives Cemetery. |

Death 8/10/1999 | Upton, Mildred H., 89, of Centerville, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at the residence of her niece, Bonnie Willison. She was born in Centerville, March 20, 1910, daughter of the late Frank and Florence Schreckengost Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. (Bud) Upton, in 1960. They were married Aug. 31, 1940. She was a graduate of Centerville High School. She was also a graduate of Edinboro State Teachers College, where she received her teaching degree. She taught school in the one-room schoolhouse in Centerville. She also taught in Titusville and Hydetown schools. She retired in 1968 after 32 years of teaching. She was a member of the Centerville Community Baptist Church and its ladies missionary group. She was very active in the church, holding many positions. She was also a member of the Centerville Women’s Club, the Centerville Senior Citizens and Acacia Chapter 30, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, word searches, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Kenneth (Bonnie) Willison, whom she raised, and Mrs. Gary (Connie) Kinnear, both of Centerville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Burial was at Sunnyside Cemetery, Centerville. |
