Death 1/31/1999 | Ignasiak, Kenneth L, 54, of LeBoeuf Township, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at his father’s home in Summit Township. He was born Oct. 30, 1944, in Erie, son of Leo L. Ignasiak and the late Alice L. Lukehart Ignasiak. Mr. Ignasiak served in the Army during the Vietname War. He owned Ken Ignasiak Co., which manufactures stainless steel antenna mounts that he invented. Prior to launching his own company, he was a truck driver for various firms. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Inventors Association and was a former volunteer for Perry Hi-Way Hose Co. and Mill Village Volunteer Fire Co. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Ignasiak. Besides his father, survivors include two daughters, Susan Ignasiak of Girard and Amy Werner and her husband, Mark, of Orrstown; a son, Adam Ignasiak of Girard; a sister, Janice Madigan of Waterford; and three brothers, Timothy Ignasiak of Waterford, Daniel Ignasiak of Erie, and Kevin Ignasiak of Dayton, Ohio. Burial with full military honors was at Laurel Hill Cemetery. |

Death 9/5/1999 | Ingalls, Jean J., 68, of 15753 Lyons Road, Union City, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at the home of her daughter. She was born June 10, 1931, daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Ella Mason Jaquith. She was raised and educated in the Corry and Columbus areas. She completed her nurses training at Spencer Hospital in Meadville. For 12 years she had been a tax collector for Amity Township and worked in the personnel department at Corry Jamestown Corp. until 1968. In 1955, she began her own home business as an income tax accountant until she retired in 1997. She was a member of the Wayne Valley United Methodist Church in Beaverdam. She was a past president of the Wattsburg Parents’ and Teachers’ Association and a member of both the Pennsylvania and Erie County Tax Collectors Association. She enjoyed politics, doing crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Ingalls, on Nov. 19, 1996; an infant sister, Jane Jaquith; and by two brothers, Clair and Harry Jaquith. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Smith and her husband, Craig, of Union City; three sons, Daniel Ingalls and his wife, Kathryn, of Panama, N.Y., Douglas Ingalls and his wife, Jodi, all of Cambridge Springs; three sisters, Sarah Howell and her husband, Carl, of Corry, Ellen Dahl and her husband, Frank, of West Spring Creek and Betty Molnar and her husband, William, of Canton, Texas; a brother, Henry Jaquith and his wife, Frances, of Spring Creek; eight grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was at Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam. |
Death 11/19/1996 | Ingalls, Walter James, 65, of 10428 Fenno Rd., Union City, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Elgin on Apirl 13, 1931, son of the late Ray C. and Helen A. Reynolds Ingalls. He was raised and educated in Elgin where he attended elementary school and Corry High School. From 1951 until 1964 he worked at Snap-tite Inc., in Union City. He then worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission Food and Cover Division in land management, retiring from there in 1991 after 27 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had been a fiddle player since the age of 12 and had been involved with numerous local bands for square dances. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nettie Jackman; and a brother, William R. Ingalls. Survivors include his wife, Jean Jaquith Ingalls, whom he married Feb. 2, 1951, in Fredonia, N.Y., a daughter, Mrs. Craig (Brenda) Smith of Union City; three sons, Daniel Ingalls and his wife, Kathryn, of Panama, N.Y., Douglas Ingalls and his wife, Pamela, and David Ingalls and his wife, Jodi, all of Cambridge Springs; two brothers, Charles Ingalls of Union City and Gerald Ingalls of Erie; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was at Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam. |

He was born in Pomfret, N.Y., on June 7, 1926, a son of the late Ray Charles and Helen Reynolds Ingalls. In the early 1970’s, he was a boiler tender at the Union City Chair Co. Among the survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Cynthia) Platt of Lincolnville; and a son, John H. Ingalls of Union City; two brothers, Charles and Walter Ingalls, both of Union City. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church of Waterford, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Moose Lodge 882 of Union City, the Union City Volunteer Fire Department and the Union City Volunteer Fire Police. He enjoyed traveling and his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ferne Beatrice Southworth Irwin, in May of 1982; six sisters, Viola Silvis, Gloria Irwin, Lillie Trembley, Daisy Burton, Felicia Geisler and Eva Way; five brothers, Guy, Daniel, Albert, Walter and Lloyd Irwin; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She graduated from Erie Business School in 1918 and she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and auctions. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry W. Caldwell and Arthur A Ives; three sons, Clifford H., Harold E., and Lester O. Caldwell; two daughters, Dorothy McCleary and Alma Bromley; one brother; one sister; and two grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Robert L. Caldwell; three daughters, Irma Nelson, Margaret Edwards and Evelyn Coverdale, all of Erie; 36 grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. Burial was in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. |
